Choose exterior colors alongside the roof, masonry, trim and landscaping that will remain. View samples outdoors and consider the whole facade before committing to a palette.
Work with the house you have
Fixed materials can make some colors feel more cohesive than others. Note the undertones of roof materials and any surfaces not included in the painting request. A small color sample should be considered beside those elements.
Think about the relationship between the main body color, trim and doors. Contrast can highlight architectural details, but not every detail needs a different color. A restrained palette can still have personality.
See the color in outdoor light
Bright Florida sunlight and shaded areas can make the same color appear different. Compare samples on the relevant sides of the property and at more than one time of day. Screens and photographs may not reproduce the appearance accurately.
If a property is subject to a color-approval process, check the applicable requirements directly before making a final choice. This article does not claim that any specific HOA rules apply in Orlando, Celebration, Poinciana, Lake Wales or Polk County.
Turn your ideas into a request
Describe the parts of the exterior you want painted and the look you prefer. Keep color preferences separate from assumptions about products, scope or working dates. Those details belong in the project-specific conversation.
